This article took about two weeks from the beginning of writing to the completion of the first draft, and it took about three to four weeks for the tutor to guide the revision of the paper. Liu Ying is very grateful to his tutor Xia Zhiguo and his research group. The tutor is very strict about the progress of scientific research, and the members of the research group need to submit weekly reports to the tutor to report their own experiments and work progress. The tutor asked the students to be good at finding and summarizing problems while ensuring the experimental time.

"A large number of experiments have accumulated to build a reasonable scientific framework for the paper, and then select appropriate journals to contribute according to the research field." In Liu Ying’s eyes, it is not difficult to send papers. Her tutor has always stressed that don’t send papers for the sake of sending papers, do more experiments, think and summarize more. "We are studying luminescent materials, and there are many scientific problems to be further discussed." Xia Zhiguo believes that publishing a paper is like selling your own research results, and only good results can get big sales.

He also asked students to go out more, participate in academic exchanges and integrate into the academic community as soon as possible. So, why did Liu Ying choose to study in Italy? It turns out that Liu Ying had previously cooperated with Liberato, and the research of Liberato’s research group is in line with her research on lead-free perovskite nanocrystals in China. So, she contacted Liberato, received an invitation letter, and later applied for a scholarship from the China government.

In February, 2021, Liu Ying officially went to Italy and began his one-year study and life.

In China, Liu Ying will arrive at the laboratory before 8 am on weekdays, start work and leave the laboratory at 22 pm; In Italy, according to the working schedule of the research group, Liu Ying’s daily working hours were shortened by four hours. The Anti-Domestic Violence Law of People’s Republic of China (PRC) (hereinafter referred to as the Anti-Domestic Violence Law), which was implemented in 2016, established a personal safety protection order system, stipulating that a party who has suffered from domestic violence or is in real danger of domestic violence may apply to the people’s court for a personal safety protection order. This system is of great significance for preventing and stopping domestic violence. In the six years since the implementation of the Anti-Domestic Violence Law, people’s courts at all levels have actively performed their duties, and the number of personal safety protection orders has increased year by year, effectively preventing and stopping the occurrence or recurrence of domestic violence. However, in recent years, there have been some problems in practice, such as the high threshold for issuing personal safety protection orders, the judge’s uncertainty about "facing the real danger of domestic violence" and the unclear responsibilities of relevant departments in the specific implementation of the personal safety protection order system, which have affected the effective play of the system. 14. After making the personal safety protection order, the people’s court shall serve it on the parties concerned within 24 hours, and also on the local police station, residents’ committee and villagers’ committee. 15. If the respondent fails to perform or violates the personal safety protection order, the applicant may apply to the people’s court for compulsory execution. 16. The newsroom in America is undergoing important changes. Mergers, closures and layoffs have affected various media organizations, especially newspapers. These trends are changing the media landscape in the United States.

According to the data provided by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Census Bureau and other sources, we have prepared the following 10 charts for you to show the employment situation of newsrooms in the United States today.

Reality 1:

Between 2008 and 2019,

Employment in journalism in the United States has dropped by 23%.

In 2008, there were about 114,000 employees in American journalism, including journalists, editors, photographers and cameramen, who were distributed in newspapers, radio, television, cable television and other information services. According to the data of the Bureau of Labor Statistics, by 2019, this number has dropped to about 88,000.

Most of the decline in the total number of employees in journalism occurred in the first half of this period. Between 2008 and 2014, the number of employees in journalism dropped to 90,000. After 2014, the number of journalists tends to be stable, with little change.

Reality 2:

The long-term decline in the number of employees in journalism is mainly driven by one kind of media: newspapers. From 2008 to 2019, the number of employees in newspaper editorial department decreased by 51%, from about 71,000 to 35,000.

The number of newsroom employees in the other four news production industries—television, broadcasting, cable services and digital media—remained relatively stable, even slightly increasing after 2014. More than 9,000 jobs in the non-newspaper industry almost offset the loss of about 11,000 employees in the newspaper editorial department after 2014. However, this is far from enough to offset the total loss of about 3.6 jobs in newspapers during the whole period of 2008-2019.

The sharp decline in the number of people employed in the newspaper industry means that newspapers now account for a much smaller proportion of the total number of people employed in the news industry than in the past. In 2008, newspaper employees accounted for 62% of all news employees. By 2019, this proportion has dropped to 40%.

This figure was only 17% in 2017.
